Global stock markets traded higher today following an overnight bounce on Wall Street that broke its four-day losing streak on hopes that U.S. political leaders will finally deliver more economic aid to a struggling economy.

The S&P 500 gained 1.3% overnight. Technology companies led most of the rally, and the Nasdaq composite (a tech-heavy index) hit an all-time high.

But don’t hold your breath, folks…

Democrats and Republicans have been in a stalemate for weeks over a fresh economic stimulus package for struggling workers and businesses. Congress reportedly is on the brink of a $900 billion rescue plan, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are still in talks.

In today’s video, I have more on the biggest factors driving the stock market… the potential impact of today’s retail sales report… what to expect heading into the end of the year… and the top stocks and ETFs you’ll want to focus on right now.

P.S. The holidays are upon us.
