About Roger Scott

It all started when a college friend introduced Roger Scott to short term stock trading in the early 90’s. After a few weeks of following the stock market over his friend’s shoulder, he knew that he found his true passion in life. He loved it so much that he would excuse himself from class lectures and run downstairs to the payphone to call his stock broker for quotes.

Roger later graduated with a law degree from the University of La Verne in 1998, but never practiced as a lawyer because of his love for the markets. Shortly after completing law school and spending many years simultaneously studying advanced technical analysis, risk control, money management and systematic trading, Roger registered to become a futures broker in August of 1999.

Just a short time later, he became a hedge fund manager, and in 2000, he started trading for one of the wealthiest families on the planet at the time! In 2002, he launched “CHP Asset Management” with two partners: Charles W. Calomiris, a current economist for Columbia University, and Kevin Hasset, Former Senior Advisor to the President of the United States, President Donald Trump. Also, from 2003 – 2007, Roger had the opportunity to work with one Richard Dennis’ original turtles: Curtis M. Faith, inside Acceleration Capital.

The major hedge fund days were great, but they also came with significant stress, and time away from his family. So in 2005, Roger launched “Market Geeks”, an education firm focusing on short term and day trading strategies.

Market Geeks later morphed into The TradingPub, where Roger remains Senior Strategist and Co-Owner of the Company.
