Global stock markets advanced today for a positive start to 2021 after COVID-19 vaccine hopes pushed Wall Street to year-end highs.

Vaccine developments by U.S., European and Chinese drugmakers have overridden concerns about rising COVID-19 infections around the world and battles over economic stimulus in Washington.

But how long will that last?

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 (a stock market index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange) fell 0.7% to 27,258.38 after Prime Minister Yoshigide Suga said a state of emergency might be called for the Japanese capital and three other prefectures because of rising COVID-19 cases.

In today’s video, I’ll show you which reports could impact this week’s trading action… how global markets are assimilating the COVID-19 vaccine rollout… whether U.S. stocks are set to soar again… and three stocks that offer low-risk opportunities both long and short.
