The major indexes rose Friday morning as the market tried to snap a three-week losing streak.

Investors are weighing recent comments from the Federal Reserve and considering how the Fed’s future rate hikes stand to impact the stock market.

Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic believes the central bank can keep future rate hikes at 0.25%, rather than ramping back up to 0.50%.

But Fed Governor Christopher J. Waller took a tougher stance, suggesting the Fed may consider a higher terminal rate if inflation doesn’t cool.
