The major indexes rose Friday morning as investors continued monitoring the debt ceiling negotiations while Wall Street looks to lock in a winning week.
According to recent comments from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a deal regarding the debt ceiling could be reached as early as next week.
Meanwhile, earnings reports continue to trickle in. Deere & Co. (NYSE: DE) beat earnings and revenue estimates, causing shares to gain 4%. Foot Locker Inc. (NYSE: FL) missed both top- and bottom-line estimates and reduced its outlook, causing shares to drop more than 25%.
