The major indexes rose as investors look ahead to Thursday’s inflation data — and more in Wednesday’s stock market recap.

Analysts expect Thursday’s Consumer Price Index data to come in at 6.6% year over year, down from 7.1% in November. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, is expected to be around 5.7% year over year — down from 6%.

The major indexes are trying to start 2023 strong, with the Nasdaq locking in three winning sessions in a row.

The Federal Reserve is expected to hike rates further, leading many investors to worry whether or not this rally truly has legs.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, I’ll discuss what I expect to see from Thursday’s CPI report and how the market will react next… whether the Communications sector is breaking down or faking us out… what bonds are telling us about the trading action ahead… an update on the global economy and what China is up to… a full analysis of U.S. stocks from top to bottom… plus the top stocks that I’m digging right now, and the ones I’m eyeing to sell short!

Tom recently sat down with me to share all the details on this incredible breakthrough…
