The major indexes rose Wednesday morning as investors waited to hear from the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Open Market Committee is expected to make its latest policy decision and raise interest rates 0.25% at 2 p.m. ET today. Chair Jerome Powell will hold a news conference at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, earnings season continues with heavy hitters Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) and Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX) beating analyst estimates.

Qualcomm Inc. (Nasdaq: QCOM) and TripAdvisor Inc. (Nasdaq: TRIP) report earnings after the bell Wednesday, while tech titan Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) reports after the close on Thursday.
