Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:MRNA) announced Monday its vaccine appears to be 94.5% effective. The on-going study is based on preliminary data, but U.S. sentiment appears high as this is the second major vaccine breakthrough in as many weeks.

This news is followed by Wednesday’s announcement that Pfizer Inc.’s (NYSE:PFE) coronavirus vaccine appears to be 95% effective.

Both companies are now seeking permission to take the next steps within the coming weeks.
